Teacher Tip: LyricsTraining.com

LyricsTraining is a fun website for students to practice their listening, spelling, and typing skills with music videos and song lyrics. The website allows you to select songs  by language, singer, song title, and level of difficulty (eg., easy, medium, hard).

Once the learner chooses a song, he can choose which game mode that he'd like to play: beginner, intermediate, or expert.

The arrow keys, backspace, enter key, and tab allow the player to repeat a word or line, or skip a word that he doesn't know.

The learner types the missing words as the song plays. The music will stop until the correct keys are pushed. It will not type an incorrect letter. The learner can also create an account and be competitive with other players around the world. These activities are sure to keep learners engaged in a meaningful way.

"Hot N Cold" by Katy Perry -- opposites

This song makes good practice of opposites. The worksheet is very cute with little pictures to represent the missing words to help out students. This hit song was featured in Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and sung by the Chipettes. To make the lyrics more kid-friendly, the second line was changed to "You would always stress like a chick, I would know."
